Export regions

Fenugreek consists of hard, angular, golden-yellow seeds. Whole grains resist pressure between the fingers; grinding produces a strongly scented meal.

Apothecaries use the meal in poultices and other preparations, while cooks also use the seeds after suitable preparation. They grow in long pods on a plant with three-part leaves. Harvesting, shelling and drying leave a compact commodity that may be sold to a kitchen or an apothecary from the same merchant's stock.
