This spice blend is a mixture of dried, ground ingredients, ready to season food. Its colour and fragrance depend on the recipe; the name alone does not tell a buyer how much of each spice it contains.

Ginger, cumin, pepper, cardamom and cloves are among the ingredients used in Indian cooking. Each must be harvested and prepared before grinding and blending. Opening the container reveals more than the powder's colour: its aroma gives the cook a first idea of the heat and flavour it will bring to meat or rice.
